  • Stolpejakten, Bergen Sentrum

    Tuesday, 21. 04. 2026

    17:30

Festplassen, near the City Bike station

For something slightly different, we propose a short after-work walk in the city centre, following one of the Stolpejakten maps.

Stolpejakten is a free activity campaign in which you earn points by visiting poles (stolper) scattered around various locations and scanning the QR codes printed on them.

We will meet at Festplassen, in front of the City Bike station/Godt Brød bakery at 17:30, and follow the trail of poles/stolper northwards to Skuteviken. This is an easy city walk, and we can expect to finish all poles on the map within 1-2 hours. We should finish our walk around Bergenshus fortess near Bryggen.

This is an easy city walk, and the forecast promises nice weather, so no special clothes or equipment are needed. If you would like to scan the poles along the way and get points in Stolpejakten, we recommend to install their app on your phone and register for the campaign beforehand.

  • Fanafjellet

    10:30

At Lagunen bybane station (or directly at Fana kirke)

We meet at the Lagunen bybane station and take bus number 61 to Fana kirke. From there, we walk up Fanafjellvegen to Hordamuseet, and then follow the hiking trail (conditions permitting) through Ramberget southwest to Lysskarfjellet. We do a round trip and return to Fanafjellvegen and walk back to Fana, where we wait for the bus back to Lagunen.

Since it has been raining a bit the past few days, it is recommended to bring good waterproof shoes and clothing. The trail itself is not particularly challenging but some spots may be a bit damp.

  • Stendafjellet

    Sunday, November 16

    10:00

    At the Lagunen bybane station

We will meet at the Lagunen bybane station and make a round trip to the local Stendafjellet mountain. The walk up to the trail itself is along the road, after which we will encounter some actual hiking paths.

The weather looks like it might be a bit rainy, which should not be an issue since this is a fairly easy hike and a big portion of the route goes along roads and gravel paths. For the final part of the route leading up to the viewpoint, it might be a good idea to bring have waterproof shoes on you in case the trail is a bit wet.

  • Rundemannen via Svartediket

    Sunday, October 12, 2025

    11:00

In front of Rema 1000 Haukelandsveien

We will meet in front of Rema 1000 Haukelandsveien (easily accessible by taking line 2 of the bybane to the stop Haukeland sjukehus, or by walking from the center of town) and will walk to the dam at Svartediket. From there, we will along the shore of the lake and will then take a trail leading up to Rundemannen, from where we will proceed down to Fløyen and back to the city center. The plan is to walk down, but it is possible to take the funicular down to the city center from the top of Fløyen.

This is a rather nice walk close to the city center that provides a slightly different approach to Rundemannen and Fløyen and, most importantly, does not require taking any busses or other public transit (which is somewhat less frequent on Sundays anyway).

You might want to take waterproof clothes and shoes just in case, and it might also be a good idea to pack some light lunch.

  • Lyse abbey – Lyshornet

    Saturday, September 27, 2025

    11:00

    Bergen busstasjon, platform L

We will first visit the ruins of Lyse abbey, which is very conveniently accessible by a half hour’s bus ride and a short walk from the center of Bergen. This old monastery is a unique sight in the Bergen area, and an amazing opportunity to take some photos and learn a bit about the history of the area while at the same time venturing a bit outside the city.

Immediately behind the ruins is the start of a trail leading up to Lyshornet. This is a very nice walk through a forest leading up to the top with some beautiful views of the area. There is a bit of ascent involved, but it is not a particularly challenging hike by any means, and we will of course take things slow.

From Lyshornet, we will go back to the trailhead by the monastery, and head back to the bus stop to return to Bergen.
